What is difference between Steam Turbine and Reciprocating Engine?

The difference between steam turbine and reciprocating engine is given bellow: Steam Turbine Reciprocating Engine In steam turbine working fluid is steam. In reciprocating engine working fluid is fossil fuel. Steam turbine efficiency is high and it is more than 60 %. Reciprocating engine efficiency is low and it is 30 to 40 %. Steam turbine vibration is low. But reciprocating engine vibration is high. Steam turbine has proper balancing. Reciprocating engine is unbalance or weak balance. Steam turbine lubrication is negligible. Reciprocating engine lubrication is major. Steam turbine design is simple. Reciprocating engine complex and compact. It is design for high power output. It is design for low power output. Steam turbine generates uniform power. Reciprocating engine do no

What is difference between ideal fuel cell and actual fuel cell?

Difference between ideal fuel cell and actual fuel cell is given below: Actual fuel cell Ideal fuel cell In actual fuel cell the transport of oxidizer electrolyte fuel and product from electrode. Proper proportion and maintained. And Surface is not proper proportion and complex. System is simple. Homogeneous reaction turbine place for three face of oxidizer a liquid fuel electrode and solid electrode.  No homogeneous reaction takes place. The diffusion process at the electrode surface is quiet complex. In ideal fuel cell the diffusion process at the electrode surface is quiet simple. Too much liquid or gas enters the electrolyte and reduce the surface. No liquid gas enters. In an actual fuel cell activation energy reduces the work of cell. In ideal fuel cell there have no activation energy. In an actual

Application of Aerofoil

1.       A fixed using aircraft wings horizontal and vertical stabilizers one built with aerofoil shaped errors section as one in helicopter and rotor blade. 2.       Aerofoil one also force in propeller fans compressor and turbine. 3.       Sails , underwater surface of sail heats operation the principle of aerofoil and as aerofoil shaped using the create down on an automobile on the other motor vehicle. 4.       Swimming and flying is also maintain the principle. 5.       Now a days aerofoil can designed for specific function using inverse design programme such as XFOIL, PROFILE etc.

Deriaz Turbine

Deriaz Turbine which is a reaction turbine. It is also known to as a diagonal turbine. P. Deriaz who is the inventor of Deriaz Turbine. By following his name it’s name is Deriaz   Turbine. This turbine intermediate between the mixed flow and the axial flow turbines, because the flow of water as it passes through the runner is at an angle of 45 °C   to axis. Deriaz   Turbine has some features which is given bellow them: a.        The casing of the turbine is so shaped that there is only small clearance between the blade tips and the casing to reduce leakage loss. b.       Guide vanes are provided ahead of the blades to the regulate and direct flow. c.        It can be employed for heads varying from 30 m to 150 m. d.       The runner has no outer rim connecting all the blades as these blades are movable. e.        The blades of runner are provided to the hub and unlike in the Kaplan turbines, the axes of the blades are inclined to the axis of shaft. The direc
